Kathmandu
Orthopaedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging his fourteenth hunger strike demanding reforms in the country’s medical education sector, has decided to end his fast on Saturday after he signed a five-point agreement with the government on Friday evening.
Dr KC is said to have agreed to break his fast at 10am on Saturday, after Health Minister Dipak Bohora, who had visited the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital with a government team on Friday evening, reached an agreement with the anti-corruption crusader.
The government has agreed to meet some of his demands while the Supreme Court earlier this week decided to address some of his charges against the chief justice.
