In Bardiya, 60-year-old Sarojpari Nepali of Madhuban Municipality-3 caught a fire while keeping herself warm on Saturday. She breathed her last at Bheri Zonal Hospital, Banke, on Saturday evening.
Two post-partum women also sustained burn injuries in Bardiya and Surkhet districts. Anisha Khadka, 24, of Madhuban Municipality-3 in Bardiya was drying clothes near a fire when she was engulfed in flames on Friday, her husband said. Radhika Buda, 25, of Birendra Municipality-3 in Surkhet also suffered burn injuries in a similar incident on Saturday. |
Both the women are receiving treatment at Bheri Zonal Hospital in Nepalgunj. Physicians involved in treatment said their condition is critical as more than 20 percent of their body was burnt.
In Dhanusha, Gita Devi Das, 40, of Mithilabihari Municipality-7, and Shyama Devi Mandal, 55, of Kamala Municipality-9, got burnt on December 19. They died at Janakpur Zonal Hospital on December 25, said SP Chakra Bahadur Singh. (PR)
