Curfew clamped in Kalikot following tensions after Myadi's death

Police used force to disperse a peaceful sit-in organised by civil society in front of District Administration Office protesting the death of temporary cop Bibek Aidi, 21, who died when he was shot on head by police during protest against low salary.
A clash ensued injuring around 21 persons from both sides.
Local administration decided to impose a curfew from 4:30 Saturday until further notice when situation got worse in the district headquarters.
A meeting among the political parties, victim's side, civil society and administration ended without any conclusion. Local administration sought until Sunday to fulfill the demands of the victim's family saying most of the demands had to be addressed by the ministry and not by the local administration.
