Issuing a statement on Sunday, DPM Thapa said a central committee meeting of the party would be called to make a detailed analysis of the reasons behind the party’s electoral debacle.
Thapa has not resigned from the position of party chief, although he took the responsibility for the loss.
“The results of the federal parliament and provincial assembly elections are unimaginable and totally depressing. Rastriya Prajatantra Party, for upholding the democratic principles, bows to the public mandate although the result was unfavourable to the party,” read the statement.
Thapa further said that it seems necessary to rethink and reform the party’s ideology and working style.
Thapa also congratulated CPN-UML for emerging as the largest political force of the country.
