The army unit stationed at Rumbek of South Sudan was awarded for its outstanding performance, according to Nepal-based UN Residence Office.
UN Force Commander Lieutenant General Frank Mushyo Kamanzi felicitated the Nepal Army with the award in a programme held at Rumbek recently, according to a statement released by the office.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres thanked Nepal Army for its role in maintaining peace process in the world, the statement further read.
Earlier on November, Nepal Police unit serving in South Sudan was awarded with United Nations Medal for its excellent service in South Sudan Capital Juba.
Since becoming a member of the United Nations in 1955, more than 100,000 Nepalis have served in peacekeeping missions around the world.
