CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate Kamala Roka has been elected as the Federal Parliament member from Rukum east.

CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate Kamala Roka has been elected as the Federal Parliament member from Rukum east.
Six persons had thrown their hats in the ring for the post.
Roka mustered 10,434 votes to become the provincial assembly member. Her closest contender Hari Shankar Gharti of Nepali Congress (NC) secured 4,406 votes.
The vote difference between Roka and Gharti is 6,028 votes. It has been learnt that 1,208 votes have been declared invalid.
Out of 27,928 voters, only 18,132 had cast their votes.
The parliamentary and provincial elections in Rukum east was held on November 26.
