A Molotov cocktail went off at the house of Nepali Congress (NC) Kapilvastu district president Dunika Prasad Bhusal at Kopuwa in Banganga Municipality of Kapilvastu district on Monday night.
Police said that a vehicle parked inside the compound of Bhusal’s house was damaged in the explosion.
Meanwhile, a socket bomb was recovered from Bhusal’s residence on Tuesday morning. Bhusal is also the representative of party’s general assembly.
The bomb was defused by a bomb disposal squad of the Nepali Army.
The incidents of bomb blast had increased ahead of the second phase of parliamentary and provincial elections slated for December 7.
The local administration, however, has said that the minor bomb blasts would not affect the elections.
