A provincial election candidate of Federal Socialist Party from Saptari constituency-4 (B) was injured in a knife attack at Balan Bihul Rural Municipality in Saptari on Monday.
Police said that an unidentified group attacked Sahamud Ali on the bank of Bihul River last night.
The incident occurred at around 10:00 pm while he was returning home on a motorbike after an election campaign at Kamaldahal of the same rural municipality.
Ali sustained injuries to his head and hands in the attack. He has been admitted to a local health clinic for treatment.
The culprits fled the scene after the incident, it has been learnt. RSS
