Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the rights of Madhesis would be ensured only if his party mustered two-thirds majority in the parliamentary and provincial elections.
Speaking at an election assembly organised in Saptari constituency-3 on Thursday, Deuba said the constitution could not be amended in support of Madhes as the NC did not have two-thirds majority in the Parliament.
He claimed that the country would witness development and will be able to ensure the rights of Madhesis only if the NC wins the elections.
Moreover, he said that the country would lag behind and the rights would not be ensured if the left alliance emerges victorious.
