6 injured as NC, UML supporters clash in Nawalparasi
At least six people were injured when supporters of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML clashed at Baruwa of Madhyabindu Municipality-6 in Eastern Nawalparasi district on Tuesday night.At least six people were injured when supporters of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML clashed at Baruwa of Madhyabindu Municipality-6 in Eastern Nawalparasi district on Tuesday night.
Cadres of both parties are leveling blames at each other for starting the scuffle at occurred at around 10:45 yesterday night.
NC president of Madhyabindu Municipality Doman Bhandari, Numakant Bhandari, Arun Bhandari and Madhyabindu Municipality committee chairman from CPN-UML Durga Bhurtel, Ghanashyam Poudel, Bijay Bhurtel among others were injured in the clash.
Most of the injured have received injuries to their head.
NC president of Madhyabindu Municipality Bhandari has been referred to Bharatpur hospital for further medical treatment and is reportedly out of danger.
Likewise, UML supporters injured in the incident are receiving medical attention at Danda-based Madhyabindu Hospital.
Meanwhile, the police have upped the patrolling in the area and Nawalparasi Chief District Officer Shambhu Prasad Marasini informed that investigation is underway regarding the incident.
