Police informed that one of the injured Pawan Mahat died due lack of timely medical assistance.
Seven passengers died on the spot when the ill-fated bus (Lu 2 Kha 291) en route to Arghakhanchi from Kathmandu collided with a truck, Ba 6 Kha 4972, coming from the opposite direction and fell off the road into the river early this morning. Twenty-five others including a three-month-old infant were rescued alive from the river.
Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police teams from Munglin, Jogimara and Gajuri are carrying out the rescue operation.
Meanwhile, APF divers found the bus 25 feet below the water surface. Preparations are being made to pull the bus out with a crane.
Three of the rescued passengers have been rushed to Kathmandu. Thirteen others have been taken to Bharatpur for treatment.
