An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detonated in Lagankhel, Lalitpur on Tuesday. The blast occurred at around 3 pm.
The bomb went off when the left alliance of CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) were holding an election campaign for second phase of federal parliamentary and provincial assembly elections slated for December 7.
It has been learnt that the blast has not caused any human casualty, however, the locals of vicinity has been left panic-stricken following the incident.
According to police, the bomb went off when UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli was addressing the assembly.
