The Election Commission has canceled the candidacy of CPN (Maoist Centre) and left alliance candidate for Sarlahi constituency-4 Shivapujan Raya Yadav.
The election governing body cancelled Yadav’s candidacy citing his conviction by the Special Court on charge of misusing diplomatic passport.
A complaint was registered against Yadav, a member of the first Constituent Assembly, by independent candidate Ganesh Kumar Singh of the same constituency in the district and another complaint was registered by independent candidate Anil Kumar Singh at the EC.
The EC cancelled Yadav’s candidacy before Supreme Court sought clarification on the matter.
