Ministry Secretary Mohan Krishna Sapkota said security arrangements for Sunday's election have been complete in such a way that security teams will reach any incident sites inside 30 minutes.
The ministry said air and land teams will monitor the security situation during the election. It said it has deployed 64,000 Nepal Army soldiers, 68,674 Nepal Police personnel, 42,891 Armed Police Force personnel and 98,176 temporary cops for the two-phased elections.
Secretary Sapkota said seizure of arms and ammunitions as well as arrest of persons involved in anti-election activities have been intensified in the past few days as part of security measures.
Home Ministry has formed Central Command Post, Regional Command Post and District Command Post for coordinating security in the election. These posts will exchange situations and monitor security in election days. Ambulances, fire engines, vehicles belonging to emergency services and vehicles will operational pass will only be allowed to ply on the roads. The ministry has also said government offices and public corporations will be closed during the election day.
