Government has announced public holidays on voting days of both phases of federal parliamentary and provincial assembly elections.
Issuing a statement on Friday, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced public holidays in 32 districts on November 26 and 45 districts on December 7 as per the cabinet decision. With the government decision, all the government offices, public institutions and semi-government entities will remain closed.
Likewise, the statement further states that schools and colleges of 32 districts assigned as election centers for first phase of elections will remain closed from November 26 to November 29, while in remaining 45 districts where elections will be held in second phase, the schools and colleges will remain closed from December 7-10.
The first phase elections are taking place on Sunday in 32 mountain and upper-hill districts.
