An unidentified gang detonated Improvised Explosive Device (sutali bomb) in Janata village of Itahari Sub-metropolis-5 on Thursday.
The explosion caused minimal damage to door of the house belonging to Rupmaya Limbu.
DSP Sanjay Raut said that the burst did not cause much damage as there was no movement in the area at the time. The bomb went off in a sewer, so the damage was less, said Raut.
Police said although no one has claimed the responsibility but they suspect Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal caused the blast.
