A material suspected to be an improvised explosive device (IED) has been found in the house of Uddhav Thapa, a Nepali Congress cadre, at Sikre rural municipality in Nuwakot.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhukar Jung Bista said the police have been informed of the incident, and that a bomb disposal team of Nepal Army has been dispatched to the incident site to identity and deactivate it (if it is identified as a bomb).
The incident site has been cordoned off. The incident is aimed at spreading terror and disrupting election campaign at Shivapuri Sherabagar where NC leader Ram Sharan Mahat is scheduled to address on Wednesday, it has been learnt.
