The construction Water Treatment Plant at Sundarijal, one of the components of the Melamchi Water Supply Project (MWSP), completed on Friday.
The plant, with the capacity of treating 85 million litres water per day, will shortly be handed over to the contractor of the Melamchi Water Supply Development Board, said a statement issued by Japan International Cooperation Agency, which had offered Official Development Assistance loan of $494 million (around Rs 5 billion) to build the facility.
The plant will come into operation once the tunnel works of the MWSP are completed. (PR)
