1 killed, 30 injured as bus carrying pilgrims meets accident
A person died and 30 others were injured when a bus carrying pilgrims met with an accident at Sima Bhanjyang bordering Kaski and Syagja on Friday.A person died and 30 others were injured when a bus carrying pilgrims met with an accident at Sima Bhanjyang bordering Kaski and Syagja on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Deepak Gurung.
Police said the incident occurred when the bus (Dha 1 Kha 87) heading towards Aarthar of Parbat fell some 100 metres down the road today.
The devotees were returning home after scattering Satbij at popular religious and tourist area Panchase on the occassion of Bala Chaturdashi festival.
Bala Chaturdashi is the festival in which families of deceased members stay awake the whole night, light traditional oil lamps, and recite mantras for the peace of their ancestors.
Sub-Inspector Bharat Paudel, who was deployed for rescue operation, said that preparations are underway to send the injured persons to Pokhara for treatment.
