Police on Thursday arrested five cadres including district In-Charge of Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist.

DSP Sudip Raj Bhandari said that district In-Charge Madhan Gautam aka Akash Sharma, district members Rana Kumar Rai, Mohan Ojha, Prem Kattel and Ranjit Rai were arrested from various parts of the district for their possible involvement in disrupting the parliamentary and provincial elections slated for November 26 and December 7.

Police said that Gautam and Rana Kumar were nabbed from Saptingtar of Khalsa Chintang Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality, Ojha from Hile, Ranjit from Thalthale and Katel from Pakhribas.

Police informed that they have also taken a motorbike (Me 3 Pa 1180) under control.

Police have been closely monitoring the activities of CPN Maoist cadres as they have been carrying out anti-election activities for the past few weeks in various districts in the run-up to the elections.
