DTO chief caught red-handed with bribe

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Friday caught Kedar Sharma, chief at the District Technical Office (DTO), red-handed with Rs 600,000 bribe.
A team of the anti-graft constitutional body arrested Sharma along with sub-engineer Dandi Raj Pandey with a bank cheque of Rs 614,000 from the former’s house this afternoon. The cheque was in the name of Nepal Bangladesh Bank.
According to CIAA Province-7 Contact Office, Bhimduttanagar, Kanchanpur, officiating Chief Bishnu Bista, Sharma and Pandey had allegedly taken the money from a construction entrepreneur.
