Four people have died of viral fever in various settlements of Khatyad Rural Municipality in the district in past two weeks.
Scores of others fell ill of the disease.
Sinha Bahadur Budha of Satabang, Magi Rokaya of Khamale Kawa, Dhan Singh Thapa and Dalsur Thapa of Paikhugaun died of the disease, according to Ubbajan Shahi, chief of the rural municipality.
He said that the victims died for want of timely treatment as there was not even Paracetamol in the local health posts.
