A Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) aircraft averted a major accident when its rear landing gear's tyre brust during take-off in Bhairahawa airport on Monday.
The aircraft with call sign 9N-AKS was hurtling down the runway when the tyre burst. The national flag carrier was flying to Kathmandu when the incident occured.
Though the number of persons onboard the aircraft has not been known, aircraft sources said that no one was harmed in the incident.
The airport has been closed following the incident. Efforts are underway to remove the aircraft from the runway.
