Leaders commit to abide by election code of conduct

During an interaction organised at the office of district election officer on Friday, political parties and candidates have committed to fully adhere to the election code of conduct.
Nepali Congress (NC) district President Baikuntha Neupane said that he would follow the election code of conduct while urging his candidates to follow the same.
CPN-UML district Chairman and Tanahun-2 candidate for the parliamentary election Kedar Sigdel and CPN (Maoist Centre) district In-charge and candidate of Tanahun-1 for the provincial election Hari Bahadur Chuman said that they would follow the election code of conduct.
Candidates of fringe parties have also urged the EC to strictly follow whether the parties and candidates abide by the election code of conduct.
Chief Election Officer Arjun Prasad Koirala urged the parties and candidates to follow the election code of conduct issued by the EC.
He also urged the supporters of candidates not to wear t-shirt, cap and jacket, among others, bearing election symbol. Koirala further urged the political parties and candidates to engage in election publicity campaign by staying within the boundary of election code of conduct.
Chief District Officer (CDO) Ritesh Kumar Shakya informed that security needed for the elections have already been managed.
He said that personnel from various security agencies have already been deployed to conduct the elections in a free and fair manner.
