The number of people suffering from Dengue fever is on the rise in Mahottari.
More than 400 people have been infected with the mosquito-borne disease in the past few months.
Health officials said Bardibas Hospital, Swastik Hospital and Janasewa Hospitals in the district are overwhelmed by people having dengue symptoms these days.
The District Health Office has, meanwhile, issued an advisory, urging the people to clean their surroundings and get rid of stagnant water where mosquitoes breed.
Dr Kishore Adhikari of Bardibas Hospital said it was important that the health authority
continued its “search and destroy” operation against the mosquitoes of Aedes aegypti genus and their larvae to contain dengue.
