Top leaders, including NSN Coordinator Baburam Bhattarai, jointly unveiled the 41-page commitment paper at a function organised at Naya Baneshwor.
Unveiling the manifesto, Bhattarai said his party would go for a rapid development “not at the speed of a vehicle but at the speed of an aeroplane”.
The party has drafted separate development plans for each province.
Bhattarai has met with criticism of late for his deviant nature for deserting the left alliance of the CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) to join hands with the Nepali Congress-initiated “democratic alliance”. At manifesto unveiling programme, Bhattarai tried to dismiss criticisms, saying his party would be guided by left ideology and improved socialism with Nepali characteristics.
“The party will support the democratic alliance only where the party has mutual understanding,” he said, adding that the party has reached an understanding with the NC only in Gorkha and Rasuwa districts.
On left alliance, the former prime minister said the parties in the alliance have different interests. He said that he decided to quit the alliance “because of bickering there”.
