Kathmandu
Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Kamal Thapa has said he will contest the federal parliamentary elections from Makwanpur-1 under the first-past-the-post category.
At a party programme organised in Hetauda on Tuesday, Thapa said the electoral alliance of the Nepali Congress and the RPP was natural in the backdrop of leftist parties announcing a tie-up earlier.
Thapa is learnt to have announced his candidacy in agreement with the NC. A Congress candidate had won the constituency during the second Constituent Assembly elections in 2013.
