The government on Monday appointed Lok Darshan Regmi, Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, as the new chief secretary.

A Cabinet meeting held this morning decided to promote Regmi to the post and transfer three secretaries. Mohan Krishna Sapkota was transferred to Home Ministry following Regmi's promotion to the chief secretary post. Sapkota was at the Ministry for General Administration.

Reshmi Raj Panday has been sent to General Administration Ministry while Shankar Adhikari took charge of Finance Ministry.
