Gangster Rajiv Gurung alias Deepak Manange has filed his nomination as independent candidate for upcoming election from Manang district.
Chief election officer and district Justice Dipak Dhakal informed Manange filed his nomination as an independent candidate. Gurung reached the election office in Chame with CPN-UML's candidate to register his candidacy.
UML's district committee office had unanimously recommended Manange for the candidacy but the party's central office refused to provide election ticket to him.
Dhakal said Polden Chopang Gurung has filed his nomination from UML.
Manange had entered CPN-UML a few weeks ago.
