A person died and another sustained critical injuries after a scooter they were riding on turned turtle in Bharatpur on Friday.

According to the District Traffic Police Office Chief Santosh Panta, the deceased has been identified as scooter rider Santosh Tamang, 16, of Bharatpur-17.

He breathed his last on the way to a hospital.

Police said that pillion rider Dhan Kumari Rai was injured in the incident. She is receiving treatment at the Chitwan Medical College.

Police said that the two-wheeler (Na 46 Pa 7397) was heading towards Shardanagar from Chanauli of Bharatpur when the incident took place this afternoon.
