The Chinese authority has halted the cross border movement from the Rasuwagadi border point, the only trade route currently in operation between Nepal and China, for six days from Tuesday.
The trade and movement were halted to repair a road section from Kerung to Rasuwa, DSP Sharad Kumar Thapa Chhetri said quoting a Chinese official as saying.
According to Chhetri, the movement was stopped for the 19th assembly of Chinese National Congress of China’s ruling communist party.
The Chinese side, however, said the cross-border movement is halted considering the risky situation of road due to heavy rainfall and landslide, and even explosive materials could also be used for repairing the road.
All the Nepalis staying in Kerung have also been sent back to Nepal, DSP Chhetri informed.
