CPN-ML lawmaker under proportional category Shiva Chandra Chaudhary quit his party on Friday and joined Nepali Congress.

NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi welcomed Chaudhary amid a ceremony held at his residence in Janakpur today.

Recently the trend of leaders changing their parties has increased ahead of the provincial and federal parliamentary elections slated for November 26 and December 7.

Hundreds of youth including businessmen Hansaraj Sah and Rakesh Bikram Sah had joined NC on Sunday. Both these candidates had filed their nominations for the mayoral post during the local level elections concluded recently.
