Kantipur scribes to receive NRNA Int'l Journalism Award

In a statement on Friday, Federation of Nepali Journalists informed that Kantipur's London-based journalist Navin Pokharel and Kathmandu-based journalist Hom Karki have been selected for the award.
An Award Selection Committee under the chairmanship of FNJ Chairman Govinda Acharya including journalists Babita Basnet and Bhagirath Yogi had decided to felicitate the journalists with the award.
Pokharel has been working in the mainstream media for the past 15 years and is Britain correspondent for Kantipur Daily and Karki, who worked in Qatar for the publication for a long time, writes on the issues of Nepali migrant workers in the Gulf.
The award carrying a purse of Rs 100,000 will be conferred to Pokharel and Karki during the 8th NRNA World Summit being held in Kathmandu from October 14-17. The award was established at the initiative of Britain-chapter of FNJ and NRNA.
