Senior orthopedic surgeon at the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) Dr Govinda KC, who has already staged 12 rounds of hunger strike demanding reforms in medical education sector, began his fast-unto-death for the 13th time with four-point demand on Thursday.

Dr KC had staged 12th hunger strike on September 25 after the government tried to endorse the Health Profession Education Bill by excluding some of the important points of Mathema Commission Report.
But, he put off his hunger strike following the postponement of Parliament affairs.
At the same time, the crusader had said that he would stage another round of hunger strike from October 5.
Earlier on September 29, Dr KC held a meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and apprised him about the issues of Health Profession Education Bill among others. He also informed the Prime Minister that he would stage another round of hunger strike from Thursday.
