The curfew that has been in place since Monday morning following a Hindu-Muslim clash in Lalpur area of Gulariya Municipality, Bardiya district continued on Tuesday as well.
The tension between the two groups started on Sunday, the day when the Hindus were due to immerse the idol of goddess Durga and the local Muslims were observing Tazia, a religious procession.
According to Chief District Office Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, a meeting of the security committee to be held this afternoon would decide whether to lift the curfew or continue with it.
A shop and a house were torched in the incident.
Meanwhile, The Indian government has also sealed the border adjoining with India.
