Two youth died and another one injured when a motorbike and a scooter collided head-on at Kamal Rural Municipality in Jhapa district on Thursday evening. The accident occurred at Padajungi of Kamal-5 on the East-West Highway at around 6pm today.
Sunil Subedi, 28, of Damak-5 and Rajan Khadka, 25, of Damak-9, died in the mishap, while critically injured Subash Niraula, 27, of Damak-6 have been referred to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
The West-bound scooter (Me 4 Pa 3524) and another motorbike (Ko 15 Pa 8433) coming from the opposition direction collided with each other. Bike rider Khadka and scooter rider Subedi, who were badly wounded, died on the way to Damak for treatment, police said.
