Three people died of suffocation after falling into a septic tank of a newly built house at Jingada Belbichhawa of Pahora Municipality-1, Rautahat on Wednesday.
Two workers Nagesar Majhi, 35, of Dewaha Gonahi-1, and Bijaya Baitha, 35, of Jingada Belbichhwa, and Ajaya Baitha, 26, son of the house owner.
It has been learnt that Majhi firstly entered into the tank to open the concrete block at around 10 am this morning. Shortly after, another labour Baitha entered for rescue after Majhi fell down inside. After both the workers didn’t come out, the house owner’s son, Baitha, called out them and entered inside to rescue them.
“All three of them fell unconscious inside the septic tank,” said local Umesh Rajak. “A police man deputed in the nearby area also entered the inside the tank to rescue them but returned empty after finding it difficult to breath.”
Later all three were rescued alive with the help of excavator, the local added. They were taken to Gaur Hospital after preliminary treatment at local hospital. But the hospital declared them dead.
All three suffocated people were rescued alive, said SP Yagya Binod Pokharel, who reached the incident site.
