The third phase local level elections were held in 136 local units of eight Tarai districts in Province 2 on September 18.
As per the latest election results, Nepali Congress candidates have emerged victorious in 40 local units.
Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum is behind NC with 25 wins and is leading in 1 local unit.
Likewise, Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal has registered victory in 24 local units and is leading in 1 local unit.
The third largest Party in the Parliament CPN (Maoist Centre) has emerged victorious in 21 local bodies and is leading in one.
Similarly, CPN (UML) has won elections in 18 local units while Nepal Loktantrik Forum has emerged victorious in three local units.
