Nepali Congress candidate Devdutta Bachad has been elected Chairman and Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal candidate Laxmi Raya has been elected vice chairperson of Baragadhi Rural Municipality in Bara district.

As per the final vote count, Bachad secured 2618 votes to win the Chairman post. His nearest competitor SSFN’s Ashok Jaiswal got 2555 votes.

Likewise, for the post of vice chairperson Raya garnered 2580 votes and her nearest rival secured 2454 votes.

Out of the six wards in the rural municipality, NC, SSFN and CPN-UML emerged victorious in 2 wards each.
