Rautahat
Election result of chairperson post at Ward 3 of Garuda Municipality in Rautahat has been halted after dispute over single vote difference between the candidates.
Nepali Congress candidate Krishna Kumar Sahani had secured 308 votes while his rival rival candidate of CPN (Maoist Center), Saildevi Sahai, has secured 307 votes. Saildevi claimed there were mistakes while counting votes and filed an application demanding recounting of the votes.
Chief Election Officer Lekhnath Dhakal had informed Election Commission about the matter after dispute arose between the two parties. Election officers are now waiting for the EC's decision halting the result announcement for the past 24 hours.
