Tuins have been connected over Bhotekoshi River at Larcha, SIndhupalchowk, after a temporary steel bridge connecting Tatopani with the Capital collapsed.
Armed Police Force DSP Bimal Dangi informed temporary tuins have been installed over the river for movement.
The vehicular movement along the five kilometres stretch of the Kodari Highway had come to a halt after Larcha Bridge collapsed when debris from a landslide fell over it. After the incident, people of Marming, Phulpingkatti and Listikot were compelled to walk for at least three hours via the landslide-prone terrain of Dugunabhir to meet the other side of the highway.
One Sane Sherpa, a local, said they were hopeful of construction of a concrete bridge over the river soon.
On Thursday, Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet inspected the collapsed bridge and assured of starting building a bailey bridge over Bhotekoshi River at Larcha within a week.
Locals said that when the landslide destroyed the bridge, the debris landed into the river, blocking nearly half of its width. Now, the river has been narrowed at the site of landslide and there is a high pressure build-up, they said.
