Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has given positive assurances about breaking Nawalparasi district into two districts.

Meeting all-party representatives from the district at his official residence in Baluwatar, Deuba was positive about dividing the district into two and establish two coordination committees in those districts.

UML central member Tilak Mahat said the PM assured the representatives to take a decision through a cabinet meeting in this regard. NC leader Shashank Koirala and lawmakers and district leaders of leaders including those from CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) had reached Deuba's residence.

Nawalparasi has been divided into two parts with area from Daunne to Gaidakot included in province 4 and Daunne to the border in Butwal in province 5.

The local level election in the district was also held in two phases following the division.
