6 injured in BP Highway jeep accident, 2 serious
At least six people were injured in a jeep accident that took place at Pipal Bhanjyang, Kamalamai Municipality-2 along the BP Highway on Tuesday.At least six people were injured in a jeep accident that took place at Pipal Bhanjyang, Kamalamai Municipality-2 along the BP Highway on Tuesday.
The ill-fated Bolero jeep (Na 1 Ja 4661) en route to Sindhuli from Kathmandu, fell some 100 meteres down the road.
Two of the six injured are reported to be in serious condition and have been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment and the rest are receiving medical attention at the district hospital.
The seriously injured have been identified as Chandika Gurung of Kamalamai municipality-6 and Nirajan Pandit of Mahottari.
Other injured are Bimala Gurung, Pramod Gurung of Kamalamai municipality-6, Tika BK of Marin Rural Municipality and Shiva Ghale of Dhading.
The police have detained the driver, Sujan Majhi, of Ramechhap Municipality-8.
As per the driver’s statement, the jeep lost its breaks leading to the incident, according to the police.
