CPN-UML candidate Prem Singh Dhami has been elected chairperson of Naugad Rural Municipality, Darchula, on Friday.
He defeated Jagat Singh Dhunga of Nepali Congress.
Dhami mustered 2, 289 votes against Dhungana who received 1, 816 votes.
Similarly, Gauri Dhungana of UML has defeated Lalmati Bohora of Nepali Congress to become vice-chair of Naudag Rural Municipality.
Dhungana garneared 2,306 votes while Bohora accumulated 1, 777 votes.
