Election results delayed over single vote dispute in Rukum’s Sisne
A dispute arose between the representatives of Nepali Congress-CPN-UML alliance and CPN (Maoist Centre) regarding whether or not to make public the final results of vote counting in Sisne Village Council-6 of Rukum district on Friday.A dispute arose between the representatives of Nepali Congress-CPN-UML alliance and CPN (Maoist Centre) regarding whether or not to make public the final results of vote counting in Sisne Village Council-6 of Rukum district on Friday.
The NC-UML alliance has been demanding recounting of votes in the Village Council after single vote difference was found in the race of chair person while the Maoist Centre has been demanding to make the public the final vote counting results.
Sudhan Regmi, ward chairperson candidate of Maoist Centre, has won 470 votes while the NC-UML alliance candidate Purna Bahadur Malla has received 469 votes.
According to the election officer Arjun Gautam, the final results of vote counting has not be made public yet though the counting of votes has already been completed.
He said that they are holding discussions to resolve the issue.
Vote counting in Sisne Village Council-5 is underway.
Meanwhile, Maoist Centre panel has emerged victorious in Sisne Village Council, 1, 3, 5 and 8.
The NC-UML panel has won the Sisne Village Council-3.
