EC proposes holding 3 elections by November 23
Election Commission (EC) on Friday proposed the government for holding the elections for the Provincial Parliament, the National Assembly and the Federal Parliament by November 23.Election Commission (EC) on Friday proposed the government for holding the elections for the Provincial Parliament, the National Assembly and the Federal Parliament by November 23.
A team of EC officials led by Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav proposed Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba that it would be appropriate to hold the elections for the Provincial Parliament in the second week of October.
The election body proposed for holding the elections for National Assembly in the last week of October and that of the Federal parliament in the third week of November.
During a meeting of held at the Prime Minister's Office at Singh Durbar, the EC officials pointed out the limited time for holding all these elections before tenure of the current parliament expires on January 21, 2018.
EC officials said that as elections could not be held in the mountainous districts after December until winter season is over; tentative dates for holding elections were proposed.
