Dhangadi
Minster for Home Affairs Janardan Sharma said on Tuesday that “political circumstances” forced the government to declare local polls in Province 2 in the third phase. Speaking at the inauguration of Province Level Security Symposium in Dhangadi, Minister Sharma said the government though wanted to hold local elections in Provinces 1, 2, 5 and 7 at one go on June 28, it had to postpone voting in Province 2 until September 18 “due to adverse political situation”. “It was a compulsion not a choice,” said Minister Sharma.
