The Judicial Council (JC) on Tuesday recommended the names of six Supreme Court Justices for the post of Chief Justice that has been lying vacant following the retirement of Sushila Karki.
Gopal Parajuli, Deepak Raj Joshi, Om Prakash Mishra, Devendra Gopal Shrestha, Choldendra Shamshar JBR and Jagadish Sharma Paudel have been recommended for the top post of Supreme Court.
Before her retirement from service due to age limit, Sushila Karki had recommended these names to the JC.
The Constitutional Council will pick one of these names and make recommendation to the President for appointment to the Chief Justice.
The final nominee will face the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) before the appointment.
