Speaking to mediapersons at Biratnagar on Monday, CEC Yadav said that it will be undemocratic if the elections date is postponed yet again.
“The election date announced for June 28 will not be postponed under any circumstances,” he said.
“The elections date will not be postponed again as the elections materials will go to waste after the rainy season,” Yadav added.
“I urge the government to not postpone the elections date again,” he said, adding, “It will be undemocratic in the democracy if the elections date is postponed again.”
The election body would not adopt any flexibility regarding the postponement of elections date, he further said.
The elections date would not be postponed even if the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal announced the protest programmes and stayed away.
As a Bill to amend the Local Level Election Act-2017 has been passed, the RJPN can take part in the second phase of local level elections slated for June 28, CEC Yadav said.
He, however, made it clear that the party would not get the electoral symbol as the ballot papers have already been printed.
Meanwhile, he urged the parties to abide by the election code of conduct.
