Three people were injured in clashes between supporters of the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML during election campaigns in the district on Saturday.
Two persons, including UML candidate for ward chair Indra Bahadur Tamang, were injured in a clash following a dispute between the rival parties in Diprung Village Council-3.
Tamang has since returned home after treatment at Biratnagar based-Neuro Hospital. NC activist Dhan Bahadur Bhujel was injured in another clash between the rival supporters at Dikuwa in Halesi Tuwachung Municipality-2. Deputy Superintendent of Police Nabin Kishor Pradhan said the dispute was settled after the agreements between the two sides. (PR)
